Just reading Kerry Eleveld's diary and what a thrill to find my terrible, horrible, awful, no good and dumb as a box of rocks, Paul Ryan side-kick, misrep Cathy McMorris Rodgers WA-05 added to the Democrats target list! McMorris Rodgers, if you don’t recognize the name, is the grinning fool near the horrible men, whose bidding she happily does- #4 in what they call “leadership”- Conference Chair. Also fully supports the #nevermypresident because "he is a disruptor". (You can also get a real taste of her communication skills at that link)
From the diary:
- Four open seats: Ohio’s 12th District, Pennsylvania’s 11th District, Pennsylvania’s 15th District, and Texas’s 21st District, where Rep. Pat Tiberi, Lou Barletta, Charlie Dent, and Lamar Smith are retiring.
- Utah’s 4th District — the seat held by Rep. Mia Love
- New York’s 2nd District — the seat held by Pete King
- Indiana’s 9th District — the seat held by Trey Hollingsworth
- California’s 4th District — the seat held by Tom McClintock
- Washington State’s 5th District — the seat held by Cathy McMorris Rodgers
- Wisconsin’s 6th District — the seat held by Glenn Grothman
Oh the thrill of bolding that name!
I’m gonna take a stab at a possible reason for the targeting, aside from Cathy’s incredible awfulness.
Lisa Brown for Congress-
Former Washington State University Chancellor and former Washington State Senate Majority leader
As chancellor of Washington State University Spokane, Lisa Brown led the development of WSU’s rapidly growing, world-class center for health sciences education and research. Her efforts contributed to the successful accreditation and creation of a second public medical school in the state of Washington, expanding health care where it's needed most across Eastern Washington.
Under Lisa’s leadership, WSU Spokane doubled vital research into addictions, cancer and neurological diseases, and helped create a teaching health clinic which trains medical residents who serve patients from Colville to Pullman.
Lisa Brown’s focus is health care. It’s what finally prompted her to run. McMorris Rodgers
has flat out lied on national tv about the ACA and the Republicans “health care plan”- I know big surprise.
Brown has actually worked in the district on the issue that would seem to be a the top of voters’ list of concerns.
Lisa Brown’s other important asset- she has actually been a prominent elected official with real leadership experience and she is a name that people know. We here in the district have been wanting her to run for years!
After serving two terms in the state House of Representatives (1992-1996), she was elected to the Senate in 1996 and was appointed chair of the Ways and Means Committee in her first term. She was elected as minority leader in 2002 and, in 2005, became the first Democratic woman in the state to hold the position of Senate Majority Leader.
I am not connected with the campaign. My daughter had the privilege of paging for her in Olympia (too) many years ago.
Lisa Brown has the chops for this and is a prominent Democrat.
We all need McMorris Rodgers out now!
